Coroner identifies woman who died in 2-vehicle collision in Darlington County

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) – The Darlington County coroner has identified the victim who died in an early morning fatal collision in Darlington County.

Around 1:06 a.m. troopers were sent to the area of I20 and mile marker 133 East Bound in reference to a two-vehicle collision, according to the SCHP.

A car and Jeep were both traveling the same direction down I22 when the jeep struck the car from behind, sending both vehicles off the road to the right, according to Master Trooper Brian Lee with SCHP.

The car struck a tree, causing the driver, Debra McFatter, 59, to sustain fatal injuries. She died on scene, according to Darlington County Coroner JT Hardee.
