Doug Illing Resigns as Socastee Football Coach

High School Blitz

SOCASTEE – Socastee head football coach Doug Illing has resigned from his position after 6 seasons on the sidelines.  This confirmed by News 13 through Athletic Director Tim Renfrow.  Illing enjoyed a lot of early success leading the Braves to the postseason with Hunter Renfrow under center in 2013, but recently things haven’t been as smooth.  This past fall the Braves were just 1-7 overall. Marty Jacobs will take over as the coach through spring practice and the 2019 season.  He was an assistant at Aynor before coming to Socastee.
