Scattered showers and storms will continue for the weekend

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue through the weekend.  A weak cold front will approach the Carolinas late today. Mostly of the day will be sunny and warm, then scattered thunderstorms will develop in the late afternoon and evening. A few of these storms could be strong to severe. The main threat will be isolated damaging wind gust and large hail. The weak front will move through Sunday, bringing a better chance for showers and thunderstorms. This front will push offshore Monday, and slightly drier weather will move in with a drop in humidity. It will gradually heat back up next week with the chance for rain returning by the end of the week.

Today: partly sunny, warm and humid with scattered late day thunderstorms. Highs 86-88 inland, 80 beaches.

Tonight: Scattered showers and storms. Lows Mid 60s inland, near 70 coast.

Sunday, mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the low 80s.
